Private Hypnotherapy & Personal Change

Some patterns don't change through willpower alone.
Hypnotherapy works with what lies beneath.

PRIVATE HYPNOTHERAPY & PERSONAL CHANGE

If you've been struggling with stress, fear, unwanted habits, or self-doubt, you've probably spent time trying to understand them, work through them, or simply push past them. Yet the same pattern keeps returning.

Hypnotherapy offers a way to work with the automatic patterns behind how we feel and respond, making meaningful change less dependent on willpower alone.

Attieh Shahvarpour

People come to me for many different reasons.

Some people come to me because they are experiencing stress, feeling overwhelmed, or struggling with a particular fear. Others want to feel more confident, become more comfortable with public speaking, change an unwanted habit such as smoking, manage cravings, or improve their focus and performance.

Whatever brings you here, you don't need to fit into a program or a category. Every person is different, and every session is tailored to your goals, your circumstances, and the changes you want to create.

You may recognize yourself here.

Perhaps you've been living with the same challenge for longer than you ever expected. You have read books, listened to podcasts, talked through the problem, or promised yourself that this time things would be different, yet somehow you find yourself returning to the same thoughts, emotions, habits, or fears.

Over time, it is easy to begin questioning yourself. You may wonder why change feels so difficult when your desire to change is genuine, or why understanding the problem has not been enough to create lasting change.

In my experience, these questions rarely mean there is something wrong with you. More often, they suggest that conscious effort alone may not be enough to change an automatic pattern.

Why conscious effort isn't always enough

Why does the same pattern keep returning, even when I genuinely want to change?

It's a thoughtful question, and in my experience, it rarely has anything to do with a lack of motivation or willpower.

Many of the habits, emotional responses, and automatic reactions that shape our lives operate with little conscious awareness. This is one reason why insight alone is not always enough to create lasting change.

Rather than asking you to keep struggling with the same pattern,  hypnotherapy offers a different approach by working with the automatic patterns that influence how we think, feel, and respond, making meaningful change feel more natural and less dependent on willpower alone.

In my experience, people are often surprised by how natural the experience feels and by how quickly meaningful change can begin. For some, one online hypnotherapy session is enough to create the change they were looking for. Others benefit from additional sessions, depending on their goals and circumstances. Every person is different, and my recommendations are always based on what I believe will best support you.

What to expect during a session

Many people are curious about hypnosis but are also a little uncertain about what it feels like.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that hypnosis involves losing control. It doesn't.

Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention. People experience it differently, and the depth of relaxation and focused attention can vary from person to person. Throughout the session, you remain aware of what is happening and remain in control of your choices. You can speak, respond, and stop the process at any time.

My approach to hypnotherapy is modern, flexible, and personalized, informed by my training through Dr. Paul McKenna's hypnotherapy program. It does not depend on achieving a particular depth of trance. Depending on your goals and how you respond during the session, I may work with hypnosis alongside techniques drawn from NLP and psychosensory techniques such as Havening Techniques®.

Every session is tailored to you. I choose and adapt the approach according to what you are seeking and how you respond, rather than following the same process with every person.

What happens next

01 — Apply

Complete a short application to share what you would like to change and a little about what brings you here.

02 — Schedule your introductory conversation

After submitting your application, you’ll be taken directly to my calendar, where you can schedule a complimentary 15-minute introductory conversation at a convenient time. I’ll review your application before we speak.

03 — Let’s meet

The complimentary 15-minute introductory conversation gives us an opportunity to meet before you make any commitment. I’ll ask a few questions to better understand what you would like to change and what you are hoping for. You’ll also have an opportunity to ask questions, share anything else you think would be helpful for me to know, and learn what to expect from working together.

04 — Your session

If you decide you would like to proceed, we’ll schedule your private online hypnotherapy session. Your session and the number of sessions recommended will be tailored to you, your individual needs, and the change you are seeking. We’ll begin by talking about what you would like to change before moving into the hypnotherapy work itself.

I believe every person deserves to be understood as they create the change they are seeking.

Certified Hypnotherapist and Life Coach

When someone reaches out to me, I begin by understanding what has brought them here, what they hope will be different, and what matters most to them. Every person has a different story, and I believe meaningful change begins by seeing the whole person, not just the challenge they want to overcome.

My role is to create a safe, respectful, and personalized experience where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Together, we'll identify the changes you're looking for and choose the approach that I believe will best support your goals.

Whether we work together for one session or several, my commitment remains the same: to help you create meaningful change with professionalism, compassion, and integrity.

Frequently aksed questions

What does hypnosis feel like?
People experience hypnosis differently, but many describe it as a relaxed and focused state, similar to becoming deeply absorbed in a book, a conversation, or your own thoughts. You remain responsive and aware of the experience, although the depth of relaxation and focused attention can vary from person to person.

Will I lose control during hypnosis?
No. During hypnosis, you remain aware and in control of your choices. You can speak, respond, and stop the process at any time. Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process; my role is to guide you, while you remain an active participant throughout the session.

Will I remember what happens during the session?
In general, yes. Most people remain aware of the session and remember the experience afterward. Individual experiences can vary.

How many sessions will I need?
Every person and every goal is different. For some people, a single session may be appropriate, while others may benefit from a series of sessions. After reviewing your application and speaking with you, I'll recommend an initial approach based on what you're seeking. As we work together, we'll also consider how you're responding and what has changed.

How do I know if this is right for me?
Hypnotherapy can be helpful for many challenges, but it isn't the right approach for every person or every situation. Your application and our brief introductory conversation give us an opportunity to better understand what you're seeking and determine whether my approach is appropriate for you. If I don't believe I'm the right person to support you, I'll tell you honestly and, whenever possible, suggest a more appropriate direction.

Are sessions online?
Yes. All sessions are held online, so you can participate from a private and comfortable space of your choice. Before your first session, you'll receive simple instructions on how to prepare and what you'll need.

Ready to explore whether this approach is right for you?

Complete a short application to tell me a little about what you would like to change. I’ll review it personally and let you know whether I believe I can support you.

Completing an application does not commit you to booking a session.
